Moving to Zaragoza Spain with children?
How to Enrolling Children in Zaragoza, Spain
Securing their spot in our school is a crucial, mandatory, and highly rewarding step. SchoolHouse’s system is welcoming to international students.
Key Documents You Must Prepare First
Identification: NIE/TIE and Passport
You will need official identification for both the parents/guardians and the child.
- Parents/Guardians: Your NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) or TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) is typically required for formal applications. A passport or EU ID may suffice in some initial cases.
- Child: Child’s Passport or NIE (if they have one).
Other Required Documents
You should also gather and prepare the following:
- Child’s Birth Certificate (Partida de Nacimiento).
- Family Book (Libro de Familia), if you have one. For foreign families, the birth certificate and sometimes a marriage certificate are accepted as equivalents.
- Vaccination Records (Cartilla de Vacunación).
- Academic Transcripts / School Reports from the child’s previous school (especially for older children) to determine the correct grade placement.
- Sworn Translations: Any document not in Spanish (or the official regional language) must be translated by an official sworn translator (Traductor Jurado) in Spain.
- Apostille: Documents from non-EU countries may need to be legalized with an apostille.
Enrollment in Spanish school: Requirements for students from other countries
Students who come from other countries must present these documents to be able to access a school in Spain:
- The birth certificate or Passport (original and photocopy) of the child, with an official translation into Spanish (if necessary) and the parents (original and photocopy).
