School spaces to motivate learning
As a school founded by two architects and a teacher, giving importance to each of the spaces in which our students develop is part of our essence. We believe that the spaces are a reflection of both the educational environment and the values that identify our Montessori school.
Our indoor classrooms are spacious, with large windows that allow for good ventilation and plenty of natural light. They are truly Montessori learning and physical development environments where students find spaces for individual and group work. In addition, our classrooms have reading areas with libraries, spaces for experiments and are equipped with all the necessary development material for manipulative learning, which is key to the child's development, progressing from the concrete to the abstract.
In addition, at Vía Ibérica we have own kitchen and an assembly hall to hold meetings and different events with the participation of parents.
The garden, one more classroom
Our garden is one of the most special areas of the Vía Ibérica school. It is an outdoor area of 8000 m2, divided into different outdoor areas with abundant vegetation, dedicated to play, rest and knowledge.
At Zaragoza SchoolHouse we are pioneers in using outdoor spaces as real classrooms, following the Montessori philosophy. The outdoors and nature contribute to the concentration and well-being of students, as well as encourage movement and physical exercise.
Outdoor education activities
Through the Nature Classroom, we extend the educational process. In both kindergarten and primary school we enjoy outdoor learning spaces and times, science, English, art,... are taught outdoors at specific times throughout the course, and we take advantage of the resources offered by our splendid garden to learn.
The work in the indoor environment is complemented by the work and rest that the students enjoy outdoors connecting with nature, in the manner of a forest-school. Vegetable garden, composting, reading area, building blocks, painting, weather stationamong others, are some of the activities they can find. At ZSH we work either in the garden or in the classroom. The whole space is a space for work, learning and integral development.
In addition, we have different specialized environments:
Carpentry and architecture environment Equipped with material for woodworking and wood construction. As well as the necessary safety material and painting area.
Agro-ecological space Outdoor environment prepared for the cultivation and study of seeds, plants and compost preparation.

Self-catering: the role of food and nutrition education
Food is part of our daily learning and that is why we educate the children in healthy, respectful and sustainable eating habits. Over the course of a day, we prepare two of the five meals a day: lunch and dinner.
That is why, unlike other schools, we have our own kitchen managed by us and balanced menus prepared with dedication by the kitchen team and supervised by a qualified nutritionist. And, whenever possible, the products are local, fresh, organic and of the highest quality.
Both lunch and lunch are taken in the classroom. The mid-morning lunch is eaten in shifts in their own permanent space. At lunchtime, teachers eat together with the children in the classroom to accompany them in their learning of good manners and eating habits. Likewise, the decoration and arrangement of the tables are part of the daily work to create a calm, friendly and caring environment.
We invite you to view or download the monthly menu we have prepared for your sons and daughters.
